Day 337 - More Stuff Gets Cleaned and Then Painted!
Wednesday, June 18th, 2008The front end seems to be getting closer and closer to being functional. The hubs have been cleaned and painted and what a difference! Now I just need to wait til the paint dries, rub them back a little and put on another coat, then they’ll be ready to re-pack with grease and put in the new bearings. Also, the brake calipers need painting. From there, the springs need to be removed, glass beaded, and sent to be powder coated. By the time that’s all done, the front end should be ready to rock!! As an aside, I’ve also completed the fuel emission line and am now starting on the fuel line.

Day 332 - Engine Arrives & Stuff Gets A Good Clean
Friday, June 13th, 2008It’s here!!!! Finally!!! My Nissan SR20 DET S14 Blacktop and associated bits have arrived home. Today I took delivery of the engine, gearbox, ecu, loom and fuse box that I purchased from Japanese Import Spares at Windsor Gardens. I have also found a new friend who has done a fantastic job cleaning up the brake calipers, pistons, dust covers etc and is now working on cleaning up my hubs. My new friend Nigel has put the calipers through a glass beader and they’ve come up a treat - bugger cleaning by hand any more. Thanks Nigel - I really appreciate your efforts. Have a look at the pictures below and tell me what you think of his cleaning job.
I still have to do the work on the fuel lines - but I really feel like I’m getting somewhere!!
