Today I finished the passenger’s side hub and have now installed both it and the two front wheels. Once again, the car is starting to take shape.
I’ve also finished installing the fuel line so that just needs to be swaged now and anchored to the chassis in a few places. Still working on the engine and still hope to be able to drop that into the car sometime over the next week or so.
After being given step by step instructions on how to pack the new bearings and hub with grease, I’ve managed to complete the front drivers side wheel with out too much hassle.
I’ve replaced the clutch plate and thrust bearing so the gearbox is now ready to go back on the engine. My mate Nigel has made a new air box for me as the one that Nigel and I had made previously fouled the strengtheners that have been put into the bonnet.
I’ve removed the airconditioner, heater hoses, thermatic fan, old clutch plate and thrust bearing. I still need to remove the power steering pump and move the alternator from the drivers side to the passenger side so that it doesn’t foul the steering shaft. Hopefully then it will be nearly ready to drop into the car.
